Terms of Service

License grant

Clipus is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms and payment where applicable, you're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Clipus on the number of devices your plan allows (one active device per license at a time).

You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the license/trial enforcement of the software.

Free trial

New installs include a time-boxed free trial with a daily cap on video ingests. Trial exports include a watermark. The trial is anchored to your device's hardware identifier and is not reset by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Paid plans

Clipus offers a monthly subscription and a one-time lifetime license, both purchased and processed through Gumroad. A lifetime license activates on one device at a time; you can deactivate a device in-app and activate a new one whenever you like.

A refunded, chargebacked, or cancelled purchase is detected on the next license re-check and the license is deactivated automatically. See the Refund Policy for details on refund eligibility.

Bring your own key (BYOK)

AI highlight-finding and cloud transcription require your own API key from OpenAI or Groq, billed directly by that provider at their rates. Clipus does not mark up, proxy, or otherwise charge for your usage of third-party AI services, and is not responsible for their pricing, uptime, or policy changes.

Acceptable use

You're responsible for the content you process with Clipus and for having the rights to any video you clip, caption, or export. Don't use Clipus to infringe copyright, violate a platform's terms of service, or break applicable law.

No warranty

Clipus is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly compatible with every video file, GPU, or third-party AI provider.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clipus and its maker are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including lost profits, lost data, or third-party API costs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend a license for violation of these terms, including license-sharing or attempts to circumvent trial/licensing enforcement. You may stop using Clipus and uninstall it at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will update the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
